    Climbing a wall with PMO

Can anyone help with climbing a wall with PMO. I'm trying to have the player move freely on the wall like he was rock climbing, and when let's say they stop pressing up the person sits on that spot.

I'd do it the following way: I'd use a sensor (single pixel really) that is positioned to always be in front of a player (depending on direction), but a bit far away so it would always overlap next tile. Then, if that sensor overlaps background, you use Pause movement function of the PMO which stops player even if he's mid-air. Then if sensor overlaps background and user presses up/down/left/right, you modify directly x/y position of the object. When sensor no longer collides with anything, you unpause PMO.

If you do some digging , i posted an example file here sometime ago showing how to do just this with the PMO. The way i have found that works the best for me is to make sensors for the walls, and set events like Darkhog mentioned so that when the player collides with them it triggers a stop in movement, or more of a restriction in movement. I did this with Alterable Values. I'll see if i can find the example file i made a while back and post here.

    Try this:
