Lightbulb Embed video files? (specifically .mp4)

Hi, I was thinking of making a fully-animated cutscene for my new game but importing all the frames to an active object will be really, REALLY RAM consuming. Is it possible to embed video files so when other people download the standalone .exe file, they can watch the cutscene without downloading the video as a seperate file? Or is it not being implemented yet?

    Thanks.

Dont know for sure, as I have not tried it yet, but add the "HTML5 Video Object" as that lets you play a vid file from the internet, so you should be able to upload your vid to your website and then using the object just stream it.

Oh its FLV format.... forgot to say.

    * you can easy change .mp4 to .FLV... but if you cant, then just send me the file and I will change it for you ok.*

Oh, I'll try that! But what if the user's internet is too slow?

You can embed it in to the program/game you're creating. Which Makes it Binary File.
Click on Top, Menubar View - Data Elements

Playing the video is a bit tricky, I can play it using Quicktime ext (users must have quictime installed) , but not at ActiveDirectObject which is the go to player.
Also compress the video coz it will add big data.
Or create an install program which automatically installs the local files you use into the user drives, no binary needed. (read the help file for more info)

Unless the player has the correct codec installed, they won't be able to play mp4. In the end I had to go with .wmv for my game as I figured that since it was a Windows release, nearly every player should already have the Windows Media codec installed.
