Any way to retrieve outside program's version number?

When you right click on a program and check the version number, is that info retrievable from within MMF? I want to make a tool that checks the current version of various software a user has installed.

Wonder if you can use a registry extension to get that info?

You can do this using Sphax's file-folder object. You would retrieve it as a string like so:

    Set Global String A: getFileInfo$( "File-Folder object", "D:\Apps\test.exe", "fileversion" )
