I'm interested in looking at the MFA whenever you feel like. It's interesting to see how you create things as I'm working (not right now though) on a similar project.

Actually if you're interested at the moment, I'll just put the file up now. I'm going to exclude the overworld music though just to keep the file size down, but all the other sounds and stuff should work.

If you got any questions, feel free to ask and I'll try my best to explain because I know just looking at things will probably confuse the crap out of some people.

You guys are very welcome and glad to share! The palette swapping code I'm actually finding is a rather CPU intensive thing. I decided to bring out an older laptop I had laying around with an AMD quad core 1.4GHz processor and the game runs silky smooth, but once I go invincible and that palette swapping kicks in, things get a bit choppy. Thing runs perfectly fine on my desktop though with i7-4790 processor at 3.6GHz. I think the way I'm doing things is probably a performance disaster waiting to happen at a later stage lol. So far things are smooth though.

Thanks again everyone for the interest and hopefully when I get more interesting things figured out, I'll release another project.

@SHINBAXTER - For the recording part, I used FRAPS, then converted the raw AVI file to MP4 using AVS video converter.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, I do have a text file full of notes I've been making that has all the alterable values that I've been using and what they mean as well as some other stuff about the sound and sprites, so I suppose in the next round I'll upload that with the file unless someone wants it sooner. I think next time I'll just put a notes section in the MFA file.

yeah, the palette swap command is a serious energy drain!

hence why it's struggling on mobile devices, ur game slows down to about 75% speed wen i go invincible. that's the problem with making games on power house machines, u forget that it might not run on the lesser mortals machines on ur original first version u uploaded, wen the screen was full of gombas the game really slowed down & it speeded up a bit with every one i jumped on til we were back at normal speed lol. dunno if its the same in this version coz u dont put as many on the screen.

also i go the mushroom on the water part, it escaped so i swam to collect it, as soon as i collected it i held right to swim back the other way and the game just froze, cudnt get it again but sum bug in there sumwhere.

cheers 4 the video recorder info

You realize the last reply was from 15th December 2016, right? Bumping up an old topic to ask a question, couldn't you have just PM'd the author to help you with that?
