@ Phi - I did, but could not find one of the extensions that I originally used to create the game (I'll have to reload fusion later to find out which one).
Does Clickteam offer any conversion of SWF games to HTML5 on a paid basis for those of us a bit out of practice with MMF2 who don't want to upgrade to HTML5 and such?
I.e. is there a clickteam person whom people like me can pay to have games converted from flash to HTML5?
I am a former Fusion Developer user back after a long hiatus.
With the discontinuation of Adobe Flash, I was wanting to convert some of my games to HTML5.
The trouble is, when I loaded Fusion on my new computer, some of the flash extensions used to create the original games are no longer available, so I cannot even open the mfa files now.
I had a similar problem with some old games that had mochi extensions imbedded in them (when mochi went dark, the mfas could no longer be opened).
Is there anyone out there with expertise in converting games from flash to HTML5 that can advise me on how to proceed?
I am trying to make a link on my wordpress page to a .swf game I made and haven't been successful - Please tell me what I am doing wrong.
Here's what I tried:
1) I created a SWF build of an mfa file entited "wwg" which created 2 files: wwg.swf and wwg.html. Next, I uploaded the game wwg.swf and wwg.html to my public_html on the website fantasywritersguild.com
2) Next, in my wordpress blog, I created a link to the wwg.html file - basically it says "Click here to play." When the user clicks, it is supposed to link to the wwg.html file that runs the wwg.swf game.
Unfortunately, when I test it, it keeps saying "Page not found."
Am I doing something wrong? Am I supposed to make some kind of .php file to run the game?
Thanks LB- So does this have to be done for each frame?
When I inserted the flash player object and clicked new condition, then clicked on the flash player object, I got a drop down menu that included "application has focus" and below that "mouse is within window."
Let's say the user is playing a game with a mouse controlled target and accidentally clicks outside the game window in flash causing the application to lose focus. How do you code to keep the application from losing focus?
How does one use these features in the flash player object to keep from losing focus? Please type the event/condition. (ie, if mouse is within window, then... (what?)) or (if application has focus, then... what?)
I notice some fonts in my application aren't supported on other computers. Someone said there's a way to import fonts into applications - how is this done? Thanx
I read in swf build 252 notes that the flash player object would have something to keep focus over the game as long as the mouse was overlapping the playing field.
I believe the quote from Yves was: Flash / Flash Player object : new "Mouse is within window" and "Application has focus" conditions.
So, how does one do this? Do you first have to insert a flash player object into the first frame of your game, then set the conditions?
Secondly, do you have to do this at the start of every frame, or is doing it in the first frame only sufficient?
Well, hearing that the Kindle Fire supports flash was welcome news.
Makes me want to pump my fist in the air and tell apple to shove it! Apple makes it so expensive to subscribe as a dev to their OS and all; I'm glad the kindle fire is a potential worthy flash using competitor.
The only trouble I'm having now is telling if the object is working - since the testbuild background is white, I can't tell if there's still a white border around the play area on zoom of 125% or 150%.
So to summarize, lets say you have a 640 x 480 game and you wanted to not display a white border around the screen if zoom is higher than 100% - which settings do you choose in the flashfx object? Setscale to "exactfit" or "noborder?" What about the checkboxes "transform mouse", "keep filters" and "keep filter parameters"? Check or uncheck?
One final note, one of the buttons I click on to return to main menu seemed to stop working after I inserted the flashfx object into the code - is that a "side effect" of using this object?
Thanks Looki - just one problem - where is the stage submenu?
I downloaded the extension, extracted it, inserted the .dat and .mfa and flex config files into MMF2 Dev. Then, I ran MMF2 Dev. I opened a new project and put under its properties that it would be a swf file when built.
Now, from that point, where is the stage submenu and all that?
In the actual MFA under which dropdown area does "change scale mode" appear? I can't seem to find it.
Also, do you have to insert code for "start of frame-> set scale mode" into EVERY frame for it to work in the whole application or just the intro frame?
A few months ago I had a question about how the flash exporter handles zoom in Internet explorer. In a nutshell, if zoom is set to more than 100%, a border of white (or whatever your background color is) appears around your game window like a picture frame, which makes the game have an unfinished unpolished feel.
Are any fixes being worked on for this or are we just going to have to live with it?
Here is a cheat code - if you go to the witches house with the pink roof(in the farthest southeast corner of the outdoors) and go inside - type the letter "n" and you will get gold, heals, and a kick a** weapon. Should speed things along.
If you are a purist, of course, don't use the cheat code.
Doh! - do I have to remake all my builds with that extension and reupload them to my site top fix this? Kind of a pain.
I wish they would just incorporate that into the next swf update so that if a user changes the zoom on internet explorer the game would automatically adjust.
Just kind of looks amateurish if someone logs on with zoom at 125 or 150% and the screen has a big white border and unused objects exposed.
