I use TGF2. first question: for a while now i have been wondering how you can make a heart health system in TGF2 like in the legend of zelda games, where you have (whatever amount of hearts) and when you get hit you loose half of one of your hearts.
second question: Like in the legend of zelda when you first start you have 3 hearts right? well i also would like to know how to make the game understand when i get a new heart container (or whatever item gives you a new heart) to tell the game to add a new heart to the HUD of the game with the other hearts, and so it knows to when you get hit to take a half of the newly obtained heart instead of the first of the 3 who had before you got the new heart.
this is a be part of a zelda type game, and is the part then had me frustrated about creating one in the first place, so help would be awesome. thank you.
Ok. one more thing. i sorta only want him to be able to move around a certain distance, not like slowy wondering around untill he reachs a the edge of the screen....
What did the enemy AI behave like? Do they just chase you when you get close? It's been a while since i played the original zelda.
They just sorta wonder around, i want them to do that, but if i use loops or something it will look really weird, i just want them to be able to just wonder around the screen
i am gonna do a zelda like test on TGF2 only problem is the enemy AI, can someone tell me how i can create a AI for enemys like in the original Zelda for NES?
i do know how to do many things in TGF2, but enemy AI has been a Weak point for me in the program, i don't really care how hard it is, i would just like to find out how to make a decent enemy AI like in the zelda games.
just set it so every hour the counter gos down and when it reachs a certain number change the frame of your pet. or just make a health bar with different animation and do the same thing its pretty easy >.>
(i use TGF2). Hey, i am making a game called "Super Mario Bros: Princess Peril", and yes i know i have been absent from this site forever, but that is not the point, the point is, is that the first level of my game is done, i finished it a few days ago, but i ran into a problem with the coin blocks or ? blocks, whatever you like to call them, ok, the problem is i made the detector for them, and placed one under each block, i did all the programming stuff, and when i went to test it and when i went to hit a block it changed the animation and put my score up, the problem was it actually changed the animation for the rest of the "? blocks" too, and don't get me wrong i'm not a noob at TGF2 or anything anymore, but i have no idea how to fix this, so if anyone knows how to fix this, that would be awesome. thanks in advance.
heres a screen shot of the problem that shows my problem my enemy dieing in the air. i centered it and every thing when i put the sprite in and everything. everything else works perfectly though.
the enemy just floats up there then destroys itself and i just want it too stay on the ground during its dieing animation then destroy itself.
i was doin a little test to make sure i knew how to make stompable enemys and i do but for some reason my enemy floats once i stomp on it and i used a detector for it and everything but for some reason it floats in the air after i stomp on it here the .mfa file so you can see the problem for yourself: Please login to see this link. thanks in advance to any one that can help me out with this problem. Thank You!. one more thing tho everything works perfectly the enemy just floats once i stomp on it that the only problem.
when i make "?" blocks (like the ones in Mario bros..or whatever)...my character always sticks to it for a few seconds before unsticking and falling back on the ground...i am making the "?" blocks the right way with a detector on the bottom half of the block and everything......but for some reason my character sticks to it for a few seconds before he falls back onto the ground...so how can i fix this. thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out!. thank you :D. if you need a example i will make one (it will only take a few minutes). thank you.
first..Yes i know i post alot! that's what this part of the forum is for to ask question. ok just ran into another problem with the built in health system in TGF2 it drains to fast i set it up so when i touch a enemy i takes away a heart and it took drained them all 1 by 1. how can i fix this? (i gave the player 6 hearts)
