Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.
A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.
Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!
Well I always use videos in my projects, so maybe I can help.
Put an 'Active Direct Show' Object in the top left corner.
Go to Event Editor > Start of Frame > Load movie file "apppath + "C:\Game\Demo.mp4"
Time Equals 00:01 > Play Movie.
Make sure the movie is made to the resolution of your application, and your done.

Thanks. I'm worried about play rates and games crashing because people don't have the right codecs. Also, licensing issues. I was going to use OGG / OGM video so I wouldn't have to worry about licensing issues, but I thought there might be something people were doing commonly to avoid such issues. Not sure if using OGG video produces issues or not.
In the past, we were having issues with full screen animation and or playing movies. If I'm exporting to .exe for Windows, what is the best way to do this? Should all movies be converted to .mp4 and played in scenes with no other event handling in them?
Curious how people do this. Also, is it better to keep the files under a certain size, duration?
The place I used to work at used bink videos with separate audio, I think. Do we have a way to integrate bink files into projects?
Is there a way to generate an image file from the game screenshot? I could just ask people to do a screenshot and crop it themselves, but it's not a great solution. I got it to work with Flash at one point, but I wonder what is going on with HTML5 ...
It's saved in the storage of the site, you can access it in Developer Tools under the Application Tab. I don't know exactly what technology is used.
Mmm ... that doesn't really help because I'm not sure what you mean by site. The problem is that in the past, Flash saved game data was deleted when cookies were cleared because (part of) the saved data was stored locally as a cookie in the temp files and not saved at all when cookies were blocked / not allowed.
So, is HTML5 saved data permanent? That's my concern.
I know the HTML5 save data is stored locally, but does it require a cookie like the Flash object? Or is the ini saved as a text file on the hard drive?
FGL recently posted that they're closing the Flash marketplace. Please login to see this link. Ouch. It doesn't hurt as bad as Mochi, but there's almost nowhere to go now for ad networks.
I have no interest in developing for mobile. I have the HTML5 app. If the game works on people's phones, great. Otherwise, I don't have a lot of interest in getting my games on phones. Not really sure what I'm going to do.
Hi Yves. I just tried deleted the automatically generated .mp3 files on my other app and it worked without a problem on Chrome. The problem is, if you point to an MP3 in your app as the primary sound file and delete it later, it won't run on Chrome.
The moral of the story is: Don't point to an MP3 file and then delete it after MMF2 builds the resources. However, you can delete self-generated MP3 files from the SRC folder and it will still work.
So, I uploaded an HTML5 version of my game to Newgrounds. It took about a dozen times, but I finally got it working pretty nicely on my Android phone. However, it only works when I use the Firefox browser (on my phone) and not with Chrome. My phone doesn't have another web browser. I think the HTML5 exporter with Chrome not working is a known issue.
What is going on with the exporter? Is there news? Does anybody need help testing?
I am thrilled that I got it to work, but if it loads half way on Chrome and then stops... I'm assuming most people use Chrome if they aren't on iOS, so I'm expecting people to give up and I'll end up with a huge no-play rate.
The only issue that I've ever had with Newgrounds is that they block users from clicking outgoing links, but there are workarounds. Otherwise, my stuff always works there.
I would be interested in a Newgrounds API that supported medals, saved data, the passport function, and ads for Flash. I would buy that. Not really interested in others. Newgrounds currently has an API for HTML5 that is in Beta, but it's about to be released. Any API for Newgrounds for HTML5 should be put off until that is released.
I tried to, but it said I didn't have permission to upload it via their contact form. It says it's a "GZGuar" file or something. Is that usual? I'm wondering if it's an actual infection.
So, I'm trying to figure out what the status is with Newgrounds saved data. There is Please login to see this link., but it only contains medals. The passport, saved data, and scoreboards all seem to be in progress, but I'll have to e-mail the developer.
I think I have everything updated because I got the update patch. I wasn't sure if the exporter would be updated with the patch or not. I don't think it works like that for SWF, but I could be wrong.
I wanted to check for updates because I just got the HTML5 exporter, but the Community Passport does not work at all and it's VERY frustrating. I think I connected to it once for a few seconds in the past month. Can we please go BACK to how it was before. This has been a problem since last year.
