Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

Clickteam.

Looks like I can achieve the result I am looking for using the Counter object with a gradient. Is there a more purpose built solution? And if not, will stretching a Counter object to fill the screen have a big hit on performance? Sorry, I would try and check this out myself but I'm not in a position to test on devices at the moment.

Thanks, I've got it working. I was having trouble installing an update and I thought by downloading the latest installer from the passport I would get the latest version but that just made the whole thing stop working. Did the thing with the Wineskin settings again and it's back to working. Everything feels a bit ropey though. There is the odd hiccup and I don't like the whole 'messing around with the settings until it works' trick.

I don't feel these forums are dead and I still get helpful answers when I ask questions here. However, I do feel things are a bit quieter than a few years ago but maybe that is just my perception.

Overall I'm very happy with Clickteam products and I think Fusion 3 will be an important step; what do you feel is missing?

Don't know anything about it and don't have time to investigate at the moment but there is some vague indication this might work for iOS (but I'm not sure):

Sorry you're struggling with this. Hope you find a solution before the deadline.

I understand why Nintendo do this and I don't think demanding a high level of quality is a bad thing. Being a start-out indie developer with an ambition of publishing your first game on a Nintendo system is unrealistic but creating a quality product on another platform is a route to publishing for a Nintendo machine. I'd love to make Nintendo games but I know exactly what they would say to me if I asked them for the development kit. I don't hold this against them and see it as more of something to aspire to/dream about.

    Hello Perry,

Thank you for your patience during our review period. While we appreciate your interest, we are not able to grant you access to Nintendo Switch development resources at this time. We encourage you to watch the Nintendo Developer Portal for updates as more information regarding Nintendo Switch development will be made there in the near future. If you have not yet registered, you may do so at Please login to see this link..

Once again, thank you for your interest in Nintendo Switch and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Sorry to hear that Perry. Good that you applied and a "no" now isn't necessarily a "no" for the future. Are you able to talk about the review process? What did it entail?

Thanks Xhadoe. Those look great too (but I think Terragen is a bit on the pricey side for what I'm after as I would want the commercial licence). I should also have said, I don't currently have access to a PC so I'm looking for stuff that runs on a Mac. I think a few suggestions have not had native Mac versions.

It's great to find out about all these products and anyone with recommendations is welcome to post them here but, from my point of view, I think I'm pretty happy with Gravit Designer for vector graphics and there seems to be some really good looking pixel art software that has been suggested and I may well go with one of those recommendations. I'm not looking for something that will allow me to become an award winning graphics designer, just something that will let me achieve the results I want. Simplicity and a short learning curve are what I'm looking for.

    Edit:
Just looked at a tutorial video for Sculptris; could be really useful for a project I have in mind. Thanks Xhadoe.

Thanks Manuel, I didn't know about either of those but they look promising too. Might even spring for the £50 for Hexels; looks nice and it's not too pricey.

I really appreciate everyone's answers. Graphics isn't my forte but with the right tool I feel like I can achieve a lot of what I want to do myself and some of these packages look like they could be just what I need.

Thanks for the comprehensive list Rayek!

I have to say, when I found Gravit Designer I felt like I might have struck gold and your assessment only gives me more confidence. I think for my current project it will be enough but I still think a good bitmap editor would be useful for the future.

I don't have an artistic background and certainly, at them moment, have no intention of spending the huge number of hours it would take to develop a good level of artistic skill. My current project and most of my planned future projects are graphically very simple and if I need to do anything more elaborate I would invest in paying for an artist. That said, although I've managed to achieve a level of graphics that I am happy with using Fusion's built-in animation editor, the amount of time it took was colossal compared to what I thought even for very simple pixel art and something that has a bit more functionality would be really useful.

Thanks once again for putting this list together; I'm sure others will appreciate you taking the time to do this too.
