Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

Clickteam.

    Thanks, dude. :)

I had a quick look this morning and it looks like this will help lots!

Since using the Android object I've been able to get input from Fire TV and Xperia Play controllers, as well as Forge: it looks like one version fits all, too!

It's a bit tricky in standard version but apparently you can use the built-in object movements with the Developer version, (eg: 8 directions) which would make things a lot easier.

Off topic I suppose, but how are you finding the Forge?

Waiting for external storage is really frustrating but it'll be a beast when it gets Android M! ;) Just glad I can still use the OUYA.

Sadly, it looks like most people giving up on it after the failed promises (PC streaming) and waiting over a year to catch up with other Android TVs.

I do like the ease of publishing though. (When it works!) Glad they kept that from the OUYA days. :)

Figuring something cool out with the Android object using a media remote.

Thanks to Fernando, I've discovered that the direction buttons can be triggered by entering values 18-21 in the 'read state' condition with Android Object.

'Enter' AKA key 23 works as gamepad button 'A', and 'Back' could be used for button 'B'. Also, '<<' on media remote is basically L1 and '>>' is R1.

In the event editor, you can use 'read state' with the Android object and then enter the number values I've mentioned above, it then reads it like a gamepad.

I'm hoping that buttons 'X' and 'Y' can be accessed by number values; can any Clickers tell me which numbers?

It would be neat to have 'X' as attack and 'A' to jump.

    :)

Otherwise I'll have to take the laborious route of raising the number one at a time and building over and over until I find them! :P

It sounds like you need to add an extra condition in the ‘when button is pressed’ event. Choose ‘special conditions’, then ‘limit condition’ (I think, I don’t have my PC to hand – might be called ‘restrict condition’); finally, choose to ‘only once if event loops’.
It should look like this in your events:

    • Button x is pressed
o Run this event only once (no loop)

I’ve never used the Xbox object, but I had something similar with an OUYA game.
It’s awkward that it behaves differently to a keyboard but I soon got used to it.
    Hope this helps!

edit: lol I just noticed, this post is ancient!

I'll leave the advice here for anyone else who might like it.

    :)

No news yet, I’ll keep checking but they’re taking a bit longer with submissions now, even though there are fewer!

I submitted my latest test last week using the Android TV object extension that’s sold separately.
If that gets published though, I’ll have another go with the OUYA object and let you know how that goes. Been rejected like 5 times now. Lol.

With the latest Clickteam updates my games are fully functional, it’s just that they’re just turning up on the wrong row and getting rejected for it.

As I say, Bloo Kid 2 shows up in apps and somehow that’s allowed! wut?

I’m targeting Lollipop API (23?) and everything’s building great!

I hope Razer publishing can be done 'cause I feel that the Forge needs some SRR, Monocle Man and of course, Khaki Combat! lol.

Hi, I sent the email they gave me via private message.

I think they've updated their requirements:

"1.2 [REQUIRED] Submitted games have the appropriate intent filter set in the manifest (App or Game)
Like above, games or apps may appear outside the Cortex environment. We require that the game icon appears in the proper row. If a game appears in the app row it will fail review, likewise if an app appears in the game row."

Thanks for the advice regarding Android TV object.

I'm going to try what you said, and also submit another game with the OUYA object and see if they still reject.

    :)

Sorry, one other thing I'm noticing, on the Cortex game submission page, I keep checking "Razer Forge TV" but when I go back to edit, it goes back to "OUYA" only. I had an earlier rejection because of this too. :(Please login to see this attachment.

I'm guessing this is because I checked "OUYA Application" in the project's properties box.

Problem is, if I didn't, the APK won't upload to Cortex? "Apk error: Could not find res/drawable-xhdpi*/ouya_icon.png"

    Of course.

The game already runs just like it should on the Forge TV.

I think they're being a little unfair because Bloo Kid 2 turns up on the app row too and doesn't even have a proper icon, yet that game's available on the Cortex store.

I know because I bought it!

Really hoping to get something published on Android seeing as the OUYA console is no longer supported.

    Thanks. :)

Hi, I sent an apk to Razer.

They won't publish because of this:

"We noticed one major critical flaw. When installed on the Forge TV, the game appears on the APP row, not the Game row. All games must have the proper game INTENT set in the APK manifest. Please address this issue and resubmit."

Is there a way to do this with the current OUYA or Android TV object?

I feel like I'm getting closer with it now, though :)

    Thanks.

Hi, I bought a fire tv stick to test again after the clickteam update, still nothing. Installed Amazon sdks and using latest open.gl version. Any other suggestions? By the way, does the fire tv object support the remote? I'll be happy once I get my apps approved by either Razer or Amazon. :)

Oops! Sorry. Here's the OUYA object version: Please login to see this link.

Please login to see this link.

Please login to see this link.

Android TV object: Please login to see this link.

I did test with your examples, and they work. The problem I'm having is with 8 direction movement (in Active object properties).

I think the 'repeat until another button pressed' behaviour is down to how my Razer controller works with the Forge TV.

The OUYA controller moves player 1 perfectly with the Forge using the Android TV object, it just gets messy when there's more players.

    Thanks.

    :)
