Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

Clickteam.

I didn't submit this to the bugtracker, since I'm not sure if it is a bug - but for some reason, the Platform Movement Object isn't working properly on recent updates of CF2.5. Each time I test my game or even make a full build, rather than falling, my player object just slowly drifts up. I tried on a different computer as well and still did the same thing.

I'd like if someone can also test the Object on their own copy of CF2.5 to see if it's doing the same thing and report on it. If not, it might just be how I set up the Events.

    Thanks!

I wanted to edit my post and add some screenshots, but for some reason, I can't find the edit button all of a sudden. Just posting a reply with the pics instead.

    Hey Clickers,

It's been a while. Just want to show you guys an alpha of a game I started back mid December last year, called Estelle.

The game is a basic, winter-themed Mega Man-style platformer. It's pretty much a demo at this point, with only one demonstration level. Some of the graphics and music/sound are tentative (especially the music, I'm not good at making music, lol).

If you want to help me out in the music and/or sound department, I can always use it. Just let me know here, PM, email, however you wish. My contact info is in the game's readme.txt file, if you need.

In any case, try out the alpha/demo here: Please login to see this link.

Hey everyone. I just finished my first (crappy) game using TGF2.

The game is called Pangs, a Pong clone with frankly annoying music and sound effects. After finishing the Chocobreak tutorial, I made this game in order to cement some of the fundamentals of the engine in my head a little more.

So, if you'd like to play a Pong clone as you lose your mind from the blinding graphics and ear-crushing music, try my product!

Edit: Just researched the laptop model a little more - it can indeed take PC-100 RAM. The 256MB PC-100 stick I put in likely is just faulty. BTW, I'll post screens in just a bit.

    ---

It's running quite nicely, but now I have to deal with the laptop's memory issues. It doesn't like the 256MB stick of PC-100 RAM I put in it, and it only wants PC-66 RAM. It works just fine with a 128MB PC-100 stick though, so that's kinda weird (maybe the 256 one is just faulty). I have to find a PC-66 256MB module now. XD

Just checked out the links. The Amazon one seems reasonable, but I'll have to see if they ship overseas, and how much they charge for shipping. The Click & Create one's price however seems quite prohibitive to me, unfortunately.

If I find a more affordable copy of Click & Create later on, I'll definitely consider purchasing it.

    Thanks again!

Oh, okay. XD I really would've been curious about Bloodstain's development if they're using CF2.5 or something.

I was thinking about purchasing Firefly (or even P3D), because it might be easier to make an isometric game with it, but I'll have to make do with 2D technology for the moment cuz I'm poor and I don't know how to use 3D modeling software. lol

I'm definitely happy with making a SotN-like game in 2D. Yes, you are certainly correct that it'll be a lot of work to make a game like this. Fortunately, we have tools like CF2.5 that makes development easier and faster, so that we don't have to use Notepad++ to program in C++ and DirectX/OpenGL. XD

Thanks again, Joshtek! Just purchased TGF2 yesterday and installed it on the laptop. It's running pretty good on it, so I'm happy. I'd also like to find a copy of the first TGF - I checked out eBay and Amazon, but all I found were boxed copies of TGF2 and Italian versions of TGF bundled with magazines.

I'll post screenshots of the machine shortly; I'd love to hear your guys' opinions! :D

    Yo!

I'm thinking about purchasing The Games Factory 2, so I can install it on a retro game dev laptop that I'm almost done with. I just wanna to know a few things:

    • What are the commerical limitations of TGF2, and
    • Are the specs of my laptop (see below) sufficient for developing with TGF2?

Here are the specs of the laptop (it's a Panasonic Toughbook CF-27, Mk. 4):

    • Pentium III M, 500Mhz
    • 320MB RAM
    • 80GB 7200 RPM HDD
    • 4MB graphics memory (not dedicated)
    • 800x600 display
    • Windows 2000, SP4

Would love to hear your thoughts.

    Thanks!

Games more specific to SotN (aka Igavanias) would be best, although it'd still be nice to know about Metroidvania games made with Fusion. I want to see how the developer handled things like: leveling up, managing a large number of items and how they are found/dropped by monsters; managing a sizable roster of enemies with different stats, large number of rooms, game progression, etc.

    Hello all!

Just to introduce myself, I bought Clickteam Fusion 2.5 from Steam back last year, then purchased it again when it was on Humble Bundle. I joined the message board shortly after, but never really logged in until now.

It would've been really wise of me to have switched to CF2.5 way back then, because the engine I've been using is quite unstable and exported Windows only (Construct Classic, which I finally decided to retire after my final game jam entry was finished with it). Back in July this year, however, I also purchased Construct 2, because there may be times when I may have to rely on something more familiar, in case there's something I'm not sure how to do in CF2.5.

With all that said, I do have to ask a couple of things about CF: is it capable of having separate Event "sheets" like in Construct (e.g.: can I create an Event sheet that I can attach to Frames that I want?), or is there perhaps an alternate way of doing something like this in CF (workaround/extension/etc.)? Because if there is, I'll definitely stick with CF for my future projects, since it produces games with smaller file sizes than Construct, and I can use Chowdren to export to many more platforms.

Anyways, sorry for my long message, and it's nice to be here!
