Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.
A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.
Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

Your expression is long and complex. Try doing it in pieces. The put pieces together to get final results.
I have had to do this with some of my programming.

I been working and learning the free piece. I'm concerned about things. Not its not powerful, but how it ties you to Microsoft. I don't like the way it is being marketed. Maybe there will be some changes that will make it more desirable. As one person noted, it could be dangerous to beginning programmers. Could it result in them being hacked or costing them a lot of money end the end? I really believe a more mature product is needed and that will come with time. Also, others like Google, Apple, Oracle etc. will come into the IA area with competing products also. I would perfer to see where things go. Just my two cents.

Yes I feel your pain. I suggest submitting an example and let more advanced users offer suggestions. I have used Pinball Movement and noticed they could use updating, or you might need to create your own movements. I used them in a stat game and noticed they were not truly random and pulled to the right. No matter how I changed the parameters it did not fit the problem. With another game simulation I found them very helpful.

Well there are always different ways of doing things. The String Parser extension, for example, allows you to TAKE strings apart and put them back together. However, I do not know what your application is to do or what the filename is telling you or means. I am unsure what you mean by "easier way". Are you talking PROCESSING speed, QUICK sorting, SQL database FUNCTIONS ect... It ALSO depends on what platforms you are WANTING TO SUPPORT. I know what you mean by feeling silly with a simple task sometime times. The more you work with Fusion the easier it becomes. There are a lot smarter people out there than me but I hope this helps a little.

You might want to use Python to do it, then use Python extension another idea.

I believe you will need to create a Windows Batch File or a Powershell function to do what you want.

Wow a lot faster opening and closing. I'm impressed. Good job Clickteam!!!

I would suggest you google for Microsoft info on where to store data as a programmer for Windows 11. It depends on how the app is to work. Is this just for a single user or multiple users? Do users share data?

Well should know soon with Windows 11 update that will get rid on Internet Explorer in Windows 11 leaving only Edge browser. At least that is what I hear.

Downloaded Age Calculator. Extracted using 7z but .exe file will not run. Says Unsupported Compression Method. Using Windows 10.
Forget this got it to work.

I feel letting "Released Extensions" and "Extension Development" become inactive and allowing the information to be handled by outside parties is a mistake. How does a user know where to go for the best information on Clickteam information? Do I go here or here or here ...?
-
My question should not be taken as negative. I monitor the "Released Extensions" and "Extension Development" each day. I noticed over a period of time no new discussion posts were listed ... So I asked the question.
-
Is it me or has there been a slow down of extension releases or extension development?
-
Welcome to programming. Perhaps someone else has a better solution that does not require an extension ???

I'm guessing that the values are loaded to memory on start and running of your app. When you delete a value ... (changes memory value to zero) ... only the "memory value" is changed but not the value in the file ... so if you reload the value again from the file it is still the original value. When you close the app the memory values are written to the file to update the file. Just a guess.
If the app tried to update the file information each time it would really slow a game down ... this would be because hard drive access is much slower than memory access. So while the the app runs you load the data info memory and work from memory while the game is running. When the player exits the game you then update the hard drive file. Again just a guess.
