Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.
A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.
Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!
Well, this is related to one that already exists. I was hoping someone would expand on and improve the Active Object + that is already in the library of Widgets.
It was meant to be a starter for improvements and additions, both the ones I noted, and who knows what else. I don't know, maybe it is not that exciting, but it is useful and saves time.
I was thinking that you might be interested and capable, Ricky.
Please, let's all stay on topic and refrain from taking or giving opinions and having arguments on a personal level. Otherwise, we have to close or delete the thread.
We have been pushing the Widget idea for a while and it is moving forward.
Thanks to users who are creating them, it is slowly starting to sink in. It takes time and patience.
Thanks for your ideas. I really hope that we will see some of the Widgeteers suggestions for making this easier to do, (and native in MMF) will make it into MMF3, at least.
I did a quick test where I played a video with the Active Direct Show and then recorded a demo file. There was also an AO with eight-direction movement.
When loading the demo and playing it from MMF2, the application crashes with a memory error. I don't have an example to upload, but I will see if I can reproduce this later.
Can anybody test that and see if they get that result?
That kind of creative capability will have an impact. Maybe we will be able to capture video files from the frame more easily in the future, (unlike the screen shot/file method) and there will be more potential for some video manipulation/creation here.
I suggest that users test many, various video files that Direct Show can play in order to assure this new object is working properly. Report any glitches. If a file won't play, be sure to check your codecs first.
Also, for Clickteam to solve a problem, our programmers need to see the file in question. It is difficult to ascertain what the cause is without examining the actual .mfa.
In light of what Sphax said about compatibility, I think it is a good idea for users to support this extension by making some creative examples that not only show off its capabilities but push the edges of what it can do.
It is great to have users applaud this fine extension, but it is better to see some tooling around so that everyone can get a good grasp of its potential.
Setting it to Radio Button and checking Transparent for the background causes a grayish doubling of the Radio and text to appear over the button when you run the application.
A good compromise here is if the debugger would just remember the size and position you dragged it to, and maybe also leave the tree view open to the way you had it last for that application.
That might be easier to incorporate into MMF. I don't really see as much of a need to set it in MMF. At least, I would be happy with it remembering.
Having compared the products, it would suffice to say that MM2/TG2 are far more advanced and modern and the value is definitely there compared to the cost of other software.
Visually and logically, we can see a definite advantage in education from Clickteam software. It is far more developed and constantly improving.
So, maybe it is not about this versus that? I would say, if they like GM now, then they would definitely find MMF2/TG2 a welcome evolution and a great boon to education. The basic concepts are there, so it is not a difficult move to make at all.
In the Shader Pack, (by Looki) under Morphing, there is a Perspective shader.
If it is possible, it would be great to have an offset parameter for x and y. What I am shooting for is a pseudo-3D effect where you could use a seamless tile type of graphic and make it appear to be going into or out of the background.
