Can't debug to Xbox one?

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Hey guys, so we're coming close to completing the base engine for our game, PiN.
(Come check us out!) Please login to see this link.

We're keen to get it running on Xbox one, but so far, whenever I hit the debug button in Visual Studio, I get:

The program '[3788] WWAHost.exe' has exited with code 3 (0x3).

The intro/splash screen works on Xbox, and then it just instantly returns to the dashboard, without any notification.

I've tried other files to see if it was just our engine, but none of the files we have work on the Xbox.
Any one know how to fix this? Or have a guide of some sort for getting files to work on the box?

  • Hi Yves, thanks for that, I didn't even know there was a section for UWP in the documentation!
I seemed to have totally missed getting the preview Windows 10 SDK. Am I right in thinking I need a second PC to test the app?

  • It does indeed mention it in the Dev Environment Setup section, half way down the page it says you need the latest windows10 sdk, but not the preview build of the operating system; which is the only thing I'm lacking at the moment.

The test app in VS sends to my xbox without a problem ...but any app made in clickteam only gets to the splash screen.

Maybe my windows 10 sdk isn't up to date ...

  • Okay I've got it running on Xbox one, I had to uninstall VS2017 and reinstall 2015...apparently fusion doesn't like the new one.

    Some details...:
I'm building the app as a release on x64, and according to the fusion debugger we use about 180mb memory ...but our fps is 30 instead of 60 on xbox. (We also have group as mosaic tiles checked, and others unchecked, as so far this gives best performance)

Any suggestions to improve framerate? Would we need a devkit?
