Questions for anyone familiar with Rage Platform Movement

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

  • Hello, for anyone experienced with RPM I ask the following questions, with your experience:
    1. Do you believe the engine could support Kirby-esque controls? Aka movement + attacks with various input combinations
    2. Do you believe the engine could support the control/combat style of a Metroid game?
    3. Could the engine support a "character-swap" system where you can change who you're playing as on the go?

  • 1. Of course, one of the projects from the creator was recreating Kirby, I've helped him creating the suction particles effect. But you'll have to obviously code the button combination based on the examples it provides.
    2. I don't see why not... Shrine in the Wind was being developed with it, but unfortunately because of the low performance of Tile Map Viewport with massive levels development was paused, the movement was never the issue.
    3. Sure, since some of the player's abilities is actually coded inside the graphic part, which you can hot-swap with the examples he provides, you could just destroy one and create another and it would be automatically paired.
    Then at max you would need to adjust some of the variables if your character controls much differently.
