Building a new Test Pool

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • So we are going to try another test pool, I have posted a News item that we are looking for testers. I hope to have a good pool of 15 people for all of us to be able to regular access as testers. If you guys have any suggestions on who you want let me know here. Also if you have any suggestions on what you want out of a tester let me know here as well.

Having testers that are working/will work/interested in RPG or RTS games would be great for my current object.

  • Extension Testers, I promoted seven of you, I will be posting info today on what we are doing.

Extension developers, Post your testing build in this same area, not in your individual forums for now. And I think we should keep all testing to one thread per test version of your object(s). Let me know if you guys have any suggestions on that.

  • Can I get you feedback on the current testing pool, Should i add more people, remove those not participating, what can I do to get it work better for you?

  • So far I've received feedback (and very little bug reports) from only a couple of the new testers for my new extension. This may be due to the complex nature of the object or because few of our testers are working on projects that would directly benefit from it.

I don't know how many confirmed testers we have here, so far I think around 3 were active but I think you added at least 8. If the current pool is busy or unavailable, then we may need more testers.

I think those that "need" the new objects we're working on will be the best testers as they will put them to use right away.

I'm here too, but lately I was more busy than usual. I will do some testing with some of the extensions. But I completely agree with Mokhtar, the best extension testers are the ones in need of the said extension(s).

  • I'm here and I did some testing, sorry I didn't report anything, I didn't find any bugs. I should have said it was all working.

  • The problem with the extension is... with a platform movement object you could easily make a small app to test it... with this pathfinding one it's much harder to create an app that can test it.
(After the lastest update, no bugs, the chess one worked perfectly)

Exactly, which is why I think only those already working on RTS or RPG project will be in a position to really test something like this.

Yes, but the thing is my examples have already been tested before I post them. In fact, they guide the development. But what I really need is to see how it performs in actual games and of course I can't build a real RTS or RPG just to test the object.

  • So what you really need is someone to dig out an application using Pathfinding object and replace it with your extensions?
there's probably not a lot of people that use path finding objects :(

  • I'd rather have people who are just starting on the pathfinding component of their RTS or RPG since those are the people that would benefit from it. A main advantage with my object is that it is very simple to use from scratch (at least in theory).

But I do agree that a lot of people are scared of pathfinding.
