[beta] SlowLoop Object

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Jacob asked me to make this a long time ago, and then a few weeks/months ago he asked me to release it to the public. I finally got around to doing it :) but only after a similar feature was added to RickyRombo's stunning WaitFor object :\

This object allows you to have the same functionality as MMF2's inbuilt Repeat condition (Special Object -> Limit Conditions -> Repeat), but you can name them, get and set their index, and use a changing number for the number of times to repeat. Check the example file to make this somewhat more clear.

You can test it here: Please login to see this link.

Please let me know what needs to be done on it, and how to make the icon better (or even where to get a getter icon!)

Working as fast as I can on Fusion 3

  • Nice extension, a handy thing to have. :)

This really is unimportant, but I found the name to be a bit misleading (not sure, maybe it was just me). For me, the name made it sound like it would actually repeat the event x number of times, instead of putting a limit on the number of repetitions. After reading your explanation of the object, I was thinking that maybe you weren't aware of how the Repeat condition actually functions, but then upon testing it I found it had the same purpose. Perhaps renaming the extension would be a good idea? :) I know some people have misunderstood the use of the Repeat condition in the past.

I think it could be quite a useful extension though. I can make you an icon if you want, I'll PM you.

  • No problem. :)

Well, really what it does is limits the number of times an event can occur. So if the condition is true throughout those x number of times, it will have the effect of repeating it like you say. But if other conditions don't remain true, it limits the number of repeats. I know people in the past have misunderstood the "Repeat" condition, thinking that no matter what happens, as soon as their event is triggered it will repeat itself x times.

As I said though, it's a very minor thing, I'm sure no harm will be done and the description makes it quite clear anyways. :)
