MMF2 iPad2 question

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Okay - If I have made a game with MMF2 and I want to convert it to a form for the Apple App store, is having an iPad2 enough or do you actually have to use a Mac book to make the build?
Also, I take it for non-beta users the ability to do this isn't in place yet?
How will it work to generate an "app store" build for the iphone/ipad using MMF2?

    Thanks

  • Yes you need a MAC computer
The iOS export module is in release candidate testing.

MMF will export out the xcode

You then load this xcode into xcode on your mac and compile your game.

The compiled game can then be sent to your Apple Developer account for review and if they accept your game it will be released thru itunes.

In addition to a MAC you will need to have an Apple Developer account for $99 a year (paid to Apple for the privilege to build games for their systems)

  • You can do it in your friend's house but you'll need to pay for the dev. account ($99 year) to publish the games and also run the games on your iphone/ipad.

  • And also when you buy the Developers Licence from Apple on your friends computer it will install a bit of code onto his computer linking your account to his machine, just be aware of that.

  • Thanks Paul for the helpful answers!

$99 per year?!? And i have to have a mac? I'd be lucky to make enough just to cover the investment!

Oh well looks like hobby game making for me...

    Happy 4th of July everyone!
