Android object fade in/out

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • Is anyone else experiencing problems with object fade in/out on android? When I export to apk and test I get a delay when an object is created equal to the time of the fade in, then it suddenly pops in- no fade. There's probably a way around this by using semi-transparency but I just thought I'd point it out.

  • This issue has been reported, I believe it will be fixed soon.

  • Oops! For some odd reason I thought you meant audio fade here, yes that's correct object transitions are not supported in Android.

    However, you can achieve a fade effect using events and semi-transparency action for the object in question. Works exactly the same.

  • Both zoom and fade can be achieved with events, using scaling and semi-transparency values.

    Danny, ok for the zoom. But for the semitransparency, are you referring to the Effect or the alpha-blending? The effect is saying dx8 and the alpha-blending coefficient doesn't work.
    I recently started again to use MMF and i cannot distinguish right away where you are refering to. Thanks a lot for your help!

  • Hey AftPeakTank, Sure if you've not used it for a while it could be a little confusing as there are 2-3 different ways to achieve alpha-blending. I was referring exclusively to the Active Object Action > Effect > Compatibility > Set Semi-Transparency. This is compatible through all exports.

    Ah ok, this is like actions left there for backwards combatibility reasons. Really tough to imagine you were reffereing to this...

    Well just for the record, the alpha-blending (like i said) it is workig, and the proof is the apk i uploaded!

    Thank you a lot for your help Danny!

  • Any kind of code would be great. Thanks!

    Ok, here is the code with some dirty code inside (it is in an event that it is disabled, so just don't pay attention to it).

    1st effect -> Zoom Out MMF2 logo
    2nd effect -> Zoom In MMF2 logo
    3rd effect -> Slide in Active(just used ball movement)
    4th effect -> Fade Out Active
