Accelerometer object will not work in mobiles

Welcome to our brand new Clickteam Community Hub! We hope you will enjoy using the new features, which we will be further expanding in the coming months.

A few features including Passport are unavailable initially whilst we monitor stability of the new platform, we hope to bring these online very soon. Small issues will crop up following the import from our old system, including some message formatting, translation accuracy and other things.

Thank you for your patience whilst we've worked on this and we look forward to more exciting community developments soon!

  • i tried both IOS AND ANDROID of this plugin other sites work with demos bu this will not read the Accelerometer object with what I coded I tried gravity, direct, and instant none work.

trying to use this for friends with ios devices to test my app. this is with HTML 5

posted here before I put in bugbox thinking it's a error on my coding end.

  • it might be an error with your coding but how can we tell? Have you ever used the accelerometer with the Android exporter? build an apk and test on an android device, if the same code works with the Android runtime but not the HTML5 runtime you'll know it's a bug.

  • I came across this as well, i made a game for android which uses the accelerometer object and tilting the phone to move the character. Tried it on phone (nexus 5) and an iPad and the movement wouldn't work in HTML5. I didn't attempt to find the cause (eg were any values actually being retrieved, trying the different value retrieval methods) as it was more of messing around with the HTML5 exporter. I think its a bug, but id suggest trying to set a counter to the accelerometer values and see if you get any readings, then try the different methods of value retrieval for the object(direct, gravity isolated) and see if the same persists.

  • Has this issue been solved? I just made a quick HTML5 app to test the accelerometer function (as a project I'm planning might benefit from this), and it doesn't seem to work. Location doesn'T seem to work either in HTML5. It seems I can't get anything from any sensor. Tested on Android, but will try to also test on iOS device to be sure it's not only related to Android...

--- EDIT --- Does not work either on iOS. Tested on both an iphone 5s and a 6+, both on iOS 10.
Also, the location object worked on the 5s, but didn't on the 6+. Both had location enabled and both on iOS 10. Weird.
