Question about limits of CF 2.5...

    Hi guys,
it's my first post on this forum, so please don't be too harsh on me...
First sorry for my english :/ i'm better speaker than writer
I have question for CF2.5 community. Lately i was thinking about making a game... Something like Salt and Sanctuary or ICEY. But i have one question on back of my head... Is CF 2.5 is
good enough to make that type of game?? Is it not to simple or is there won't be any limits??
I know that maybe my question is stupid but i am a beginner at game making society and i don't know to much...

Thank you for all replies on my post

I hadn't heard of those two games, but from what I could see of the trailers, I couldn't see anything that couldn't be done in CF2.5. Certain effects like the swaying of the entire screen or the dragon fire (that collides with the ground and spreads out dynamically) would definitely be tricky, but not impossible. As a general rule of thumb, Fusion is capable of doing just about anything you can imagine, as long as it's 2D. Performance-wise, it can handle most things too, though it'd probably struggle with some of the quantity of shader and particle effects that were in those trailers (ie. you could achieve them, but perhaps not with quite as much intensity, or else it would slow down on many PCs).

My guess is that if you hit a wall at all, it's more likely to be a wall caused by the complexity of your ambition, rather than limitations of the engine, if that makes sense. Both Salt and Sanctuary and ICEY look doable, but they also both look relatively complex for a first-time game. RPGs require a lot of complexity in their systems and careful planning in their overall structure. A sidescroller fighting game like ICEY might be a bit simpler, but will require some enemy AI programming, which won't be a trivial matter. Either way, dive in and have a go. Good luck!

EDIT: Have a look at the WIP forum, and you can see some examples of games being made in Fusion. Here are GIFs from a few of them:

Thanks for answer. I also found good example after google it... I should it do this before create new post :/ Game name is Wings of Vi... It has a intense gameplay and includes charcter customisation, few kinds of attack, boss fight an many many more And it was made with CF 2.5...
So in few words CF2.5 has almost no limits for 2D games, only limits is my imagination

Salt and Sanctuary is a standard platformer really, your biggest trouble will be putting together the art and actually Learning the system.
