GET OBJECT - can't pass string variable to use for $_POST

I'm sure I've read about this before - but i thought it was fixed long ago.

I'm using the GET Object to send Post data - if i hard code the strings "adfafadfadf" it works fine. but if i set a variable such as myString = "asdfasdf" and use that in the Add post it sends nothing.

This is killing me - anyone know how to get around it?
