Exclamation Upgrading to windows 10, Slow down using HWA?

So I recently upgraded to windows 10 from 7. I have not changed any hardware since the installation of windows 10.

I reopen my project files, everything works fine in the program,

But once I do either a test build or a external build the game runs at around 10-12 fps. I tried changing the Display Mode back to standard and I instantly get the fps cap. around 58-60fps. I tried it on Direct3d 8 and 9 and it yelds the same results, sluggish processing at around 10-12 fps.

    I have currently tried:
Loading up other projects with no external plugins, does the same thing.
Making a new project file, created a few active objects. Same thing.
Installing the Directx Runtime located here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down...ils.aspx?id=35 (Installed Stuff, then I restarted, No effect on performance on direct3d 8-9)
Reinstalling Fusion 2.5 and Flash Exporter (No change)
Looked on the forum for some information regarding my problem, couldn't find it. (or missed it)
Launched Fusion 2.5 on steam (Because I have both copies) Still does the same thing.

I think I haven't installed something or i'm missing something on the new operating system. Something that might help is that fusion 2.5 now hangs on launch when Creating Window Frame for about 5-8 seconds when it never used to do that on windows 7. My game projects never ran this slow before updating to windows 10.

So yeah. Kinda at a loss here. HALP

If you haven't updated your GPU (nvidia, amd, or intel) driver since upgrading, try that. Update audio drivers while you're at it.

How do other games run? AAA games? commercially released Fusion games?

Also, is this a laptop or desktop? I've heard of laptops that switch automatically to integrated GPU instead of correctly running of the dedicated GPU with some Fusion games (especially low res ones). If your game is low-res (judging by your very nice pixelart avatar, I'm guessing it is), and you have a dedicated GPU and integrated GPU, then this might be your problem.

To test this, you could use a program like Aida64 or EVGA PrecisionX to monitor your GPU usage while running the game. Or, you could try running FRAPS. I find that when I run my 1920x1080p Fusion game, FRAPS starts no problem. But when I run a lowres MFA, FRAPS doesn't turn on (which I take to mean that the GPU hasn't automatically triggered)

I do not have integrated graphics on my tower, (judging from the back of the case.) I just got off of battlefield 1 using Directx 12 and me and a friend was playing Hexen II a few days ago (the extreme examples of old and new), they run fine, so i'm guessing its not a directx problem. Rolling with a GTX 970. I tried running "Really big Sky" that is made in Multimedia Fusion 2, it runs fine. But I tested some old builds of games I made in the past, built before windows 10 upgrade. And they work silky smooth and made in fusion 2.5. So it seems to be something with the editor. I have been on windows 10 before on this machine, and not had this problem its weird.

But I have noticed that, if I make the window size larger in the editor the lag gets worse when I test it, and when I decrease the size it increases. It seems like something has happened to the building of games.

    Direct3D 9

    60fps (Cap) - Active object and background object 32x32 - 320x240 Res
26-29Fps - Active object and background object 32x32- 640x480 Res
4-5fps - Active object and background object both 32x32 -1280x720 Res

    Standard
    60fps - On everything.

Actions scripted (Such as always, or On click active object) in the editor also have a major delay of about 1-2 seconds before executing. This doesn't seem to be affected by the resolution or FPS.
I have also factory reset my Nvidea settings.

I have tried reinstalling Fusion 2.5 and its exporters again, but still no luck...

Update: The editor itself is also very choppy when scrolling around the canvas.

Thanks for your help thus far.

    Fixed... KINDA!

Okay so, for some reason. I found that in my old game projects that I saved on windows 7, if I removed the background objects and quick background object, the game speeds up to normal speed. But heres the kicker, if I put them back.. It works fine still.. Thats a really weird bug. Its like. they have memory.. and they sentient

    Okays so:
Creating things in the steam version of fusion 2.5 creates "laggy background objects" and creating them in the Off steam version Makes "clean background objects." and if I get "laggy background objects" , I can put them back in place on the non steam version.. That is a really weird bug and I'm not sure if its just my machine, (because I didn't reinstall the steam version after the windows 10 update.) The steam version might not of worked out its on windows 10 or something, that's the only thing I can think of.
