Layer effect in sub-app is not working when is "displayed as sprite".

I don't know if it's a bug, or simply it can't be done.

I am working in a game where the gameplay is loaded from a sub-application, and the inventory box from another. To make it works well in HWA mode is needed to have "Display as sprite" checked.
Everything at this moment is working fine. But now I need one layer from the subapp "Gameplay" to have the effect "subtract" applied to make lighting effects, and it has a strange effect.

I don't know if report it as bug, I wanted to post here before. I have made an example file to show the problem:

    Subapp-layer-effect.mfa

I need to make it works
