How do I determine the hide / show status of the status bar?

I have a setting that the player can hide or show the status bar as they prefer it - this works correctly.

By default it is set to Display the status bar (the setting is ticked in Fusion).

If the status bar was hidden and the game is idle long enough for the lock screen to be activated then it returns with the status bar showing and the game chopped off where the status bar is - i.e. not sized correctly for the status bar.

I have tried it with the "End application when not in foreground" button ticked on / off - it made no difference.

How can I tell Fusion to remember the status of this setting and to return the game back to whatever the status was after its been idle?

On a Proline Tablet - using Android 4.2.2 - the hide status bar doesn't work at all - whether I do it as a setting in Fusion or using the Android object.

It hangs the game for a while and then stretches the game full-screen but shows the display bar over that obscuring part of the game.

On Huawei P8 Lite 2017 - Android version 8.0.0 Build number ....376 - the dim navigation bar command doesn't work - it removes two icons off the top bar but leaves the rest. The navigation bar stays as it is.

If using Android + Object and command:

    Application returning from Pause
    + Hide Status Bar = 1
    Android object: Hide Navigation Bar

Then this will work when I don't have to type in a password to unlock the phone. The minute I need to type in a password - this command fails - the side bars show and the display is messed up.

    Attached is a .mfa

Also attached are screenshots that show what is happening on my devices.

I had to delete the backdrop from the .mfa that is shown in the screenshots because it exceeded the size limit of the forum attachments - so the .mfa has no backdrop now.

That issue with the Proline tablet will happen if I also untick the option under Android properties to "Display Status Bar".
