Question Android+ object default GMT offset and daylight saving

    Hi,

I'm using default GMT offset to convert dates from my server gmt time to user local time, but the "get default gmt" from android+ doesn't take into account the daylight saving hour.

Is it designed to work this way or it is a bug ?

Is there another way to get this information ?

    thanks,
    Haoujey

    Hi @Fernando ,

I'm managing times in different timezones.
My server stores date/times in gmt.
But i want the app to show the date/time in local time. So i need to have the offset to calculate the local time.

I'm using the AndroidPlus GetDefaultTimezoneGMT$( "AndroidPlus" ) to get the local time zone and extract the offset. But this offset doesn't take into account the daylight saving hours.

So i'm asking if this is normal to get GMT+1 when it's supposed to be GMT+2 (with the extra daylight saving hour) ?
Is there a function or an extension to provide this info ?

For now i created a webservice that i call with the phone date/time and the server calculates the difference and send me the correct offset. But this solution has a cost, and it will be much cleaner to get this information directly in the app.
