Question Weird Shifting Pixel bug in my game?

Hello. I am getting a weird looking shifting pixel. Actually two pixels that seem to shift when the character moves diagonally. The direction the pixels shift depends on which diagonal direction the character is moving. I can only see it when I am in full screen or I resize the display using window control object. It does it if I use ultimate fullscreen, or if I disable the event group that controls ultimate fullscreen and just use fusion's app properties fullscreen option.

I am using the 8 directions movement, but I have previously tried to make a simple custom movement and the pixel shifting still happens when moving diagonally, so it's not the default clickteam movement that is doing it. I have tried switching to all renderers, it does it in software, dx 8, 9 and 11 the same way.

When I take a screenshot with print screen the bug is not reproduced in the screen shot, so I am attaching a a sort of self-drawn recreation of what is happening in the bug. weirdpixelbug.png nardrulefantasy01.mfa

I have searched the forums and I can't for the life of me figure out what is going on.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help me problem solve!

Are your hot spots where they need to be? It would be great if you would upload your mfa.

Ok, I spent all day playing with this. Reading forum posts on pixel art scaling problems etc etc. Solution I came up with is to just upscale my pixel art and increase the resolution of the game. It breaks the map but I haven't done all that much with it anyways, so I decided to just start over from scratch with this in mind. Even with the pixel characters and tiles upscaled 4x there is still some weird pixel artifacts, but antialiasing smooths it out and takes care of that, and the upscaled images look much better with antialiasing than the smaller resolution stuff did. it's not "true" pixel art anymore by nerd-purist standards but it looks good enough for me.

hopefully i won't have too much in the way of performance problems with increased resolution. i decided on 1280 x 768 because it gives me the ability to have 64 x 64 tiles that upscale nicely from the 16 x 16 ones i already made and edited from cc0 stuff at opengameart.org

i think at this point i am pretty much talking to myself :p if anyone reads this, have you experienced problems with fusion games at this high of a resolution? last time i used clicker tools was in 2007 before hwa, and i remember noticeable slowdown at anything bigger than 320 x 200. but runtime seems much more optimized now and the hwa should make a big difference over the way it was back in the stone age.
