    Picture Editor stuff

I just got around to using the Picture Editor to add an animation I made.

I noticed how hard it has become to work with. I never drew my animations in my klik-products and don't intend to, so now that I import images from the clipboard it is VERY hard to get hotspots right because the small preview window from the old animation editor from 1.5 isn't there anymore.

In the old you could highlight a frame and it would be displayed in the preview in relation to the others, so you could tell if the hotspot was off by a few pixels on "this" particular frame.

Since that can't be done now I have to sort of sit and guess what frame in the animation has the hotspot wrong, and then it's trial and error.

What I tried then was copying in a bigger square that was constant for each frame, setting the hotspot to center, and then cropping, but it shouldn't be that tedious in my opinion. I prefer the old animation editor and picture editor to the new, "classic" one. The new one feels so cramped and uncustomizable.

Also, as soon as I haven't specifically highlighted the drawing area in some way, the keyboard shortcuts don't work. For example, I highlighted a frame and tried to Ctrl+K to crop to make work fast, only to realise I had to also click on the drawing area as well before it would work.

I couldn't use the keyboard shortcut for going between frames either, it seemed to either want to go between highlighting frames in the frame display or do as I wanted, go between frames in the draw area, but then not in the frame display...

There seem to be a few more of these small, unnecessary annoying things... <img src="/center/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

In short, the hot/animation spots were easier to get correct, when you could slowly watch the animation by pulling it frame by frame, giving you complete control to stop instantly when you see what frame has the problem, and what you need to do to fix it?

    No.

In the animation editor in MMF1 (note, NOT the picture editor in MMF1), if you clicked a frame, it was display in a preview window, the same window the animation would play in if you chose "play". And you could see how off a frame would be in its hotspot compared to the other frames if you selected one frame, then another.

    Re: Picture Editor stuff

I agree with you, the 1.5 animation editor was better. Maybe for a patch or something some new checkboxes in the preferences would be there, making the old 1.5 versions of things used instead of the version 2 things.

I think it should either be brought back in a patch or be in an update. I don't really care which, as long as I get the good old editor back.

I just want to add another thing. I think with the new editor, it doesn't let you be as organized. I usually like to be organized. :P

I don't want the buggy 1.5 editor back, but I am noticing a lot of annoying things like you described and I hope they do fix some of this stuff.

In 1.5 you could adjust the hotspot with the numpad too, press 5 to center it and the other buttons to set it on the corners.....etc so I could rapidly go through all the frames and keep tapping the numpad and adjust the hotspot on about 100 frames in 10 seconds.....now I can't :/

The mousewheel seems to adjust whatever section was used last in the toolbox, which is real annoying since I always expect it to zoom. I want that back, or at least an option to permanately set the mousewheel to zoom.
