    MMF2 eats CPU power...

I'm creating a 2 layer application. The background layer with a bunch of backdrop objects, and some moving active objects, and the same with the front layer. It's not that many objects really, but the application seems to run at ~40 fps instead of ~50, far slower than I'd expect if I did the same thing in MMF1 (although in one layer). And even more strange, after 5-10 seconds, the speed begins to increase slowly to 50, until it runs at full speed, and the problem is gone (Still, I can't have a 10 second slowdown at startup)...

2ghz machine, no alpha channel used on any object. Application resolution: 600x480.

The more background objects I place on the front layer (they don't use semi transparency by the way) the slower the application runs. And it's not many background objects at all...

Can you post an example file of this for the developers?

I wish I could. I fixed the problem by removing as many active objects I could in the background layer, so only those I really really need are there... Unfortunately, I didn't save the older file...

I'll download the new installer, and see if something has been fixed...

    Re: MMF2 eats CPU power...

Anyways, I'd like someone to estimate the number of layers which can be used for paralax scrolling in an 640x480 application, 2ghz PC. Is it only 2 layers (one back, one front)? That's what I'm getting...

Yes, the game eats over 90% anyway when an action is preformed.
