    MMF2 Help

    Hello All,

I have MMF 1.5 (soon to get MMF 2, can't wait!) and the artist I work with has MMF2. He has done some concept background stuff (with 4 different parallaxing layers) in MMF2 bundled it up in an .exe and sent it to me to look at. Only trouble is when I play the game it is horribly slow on my comp and runs at normal speed on his comp. I have a 3ghz machine with 512mb of ram and he has a centrino 1.7 ghz with 512mb of ram.

Why would this happen? Is it because I don't have the latest .dll or is there another file im missing?

    Hope you can help!

    Steve

    Re: MMF2 Help

This might depend on the videocard you have. Ask the artist to give you the source and play a bit with video modes (VRAM, directX, VSync).

If this doesn't solve the situation, please post the application here so we could have a look.

    Re: MMF2 Help

You can try to force some video options with command line switches.

Create a shortcut to the EXE file, edit its properties and add one of the following options:

/DDRAW -> will force the DirectX mode
/DIB -> will force the standard mode
/DIB3 -> will force the standard mode in 256 colors
/DIB4 -> will force the standard mode in 24-bit true color mode
/DIB6 -> will force the standard mode in 15-bit high color mode
/DIB7 -> will force the standard mode in 16-bit high color mode
/DIB8 -> will force the standard mode in 32-bit true color mode
/VSYNC -> will synchronize the display with the refresh rate

Start with /DIB or /DIB7 for example.
