    Faster perhaps, but better is a question about what you actually intend to do. Often "add" simply looks better, and in case you're adding a light to the scene, the alpha channels can get pretty ugly, as it can actually darken, which light simply don't do.

    sorry, I was replying to the alpha-blended versus anti-alias question <img src="/center/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Add mode is awesome for a lot of effects, but alpha is indeed more useful for many other things. (I'm really glad I have both options. Now I just need to do some benchmark tests to see which is slower in MMF2 )

    sorry, I was replying to the alpha-blended versus anti-alias question <img src="/center/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Add mode is awesome for a lot of effects, but alpha is indeed more useful for many other things.     I've actually created a simple benchmark program to test it and additive is indeed slightly faster. Also, switching the aplication to the lower color depth made it a couple fps faster, as well as making it a stand alone executible as apposed to running it from MMF.
