Simple Layer Problem

I've did a search on this forum but couldn't find what I'm looking for:

I currently am using the MMF Dev version -

I create a backdrop, then create a text. Run the app, text is layered above backdrop - as expected

I create a new layer and put the backdrop on layer #1 and keep the text obj on layer #2 - run the app, now backdrop is above text - as expected

I now place the text object on layer #1 - in the frame editor, the text appears over the backdrop (again, as expected). But, when I run the game, the backdrop is over the text. How do you fix this bug?

in that file you provided all objects are in the same layer... layer 2

drag the backdrop and active into layer 1

and all should work fine.

layer 1 is below 2, 2 below 3 and so on....

Thanks for the reply, but the sample file I sent was only to show my error - the game I make require both a background and text object on the same layer.

How come when both the text object and the background are on layer 2, the background object is over the text?

Unselect the "Display as background" option for the string object, that will solve the problem.

I *think* we should automatically disable this option for layers greater than 1.
