    Another level editor :P

People seemed to be interested in level editors, so I went ahead and started making one as an example. I realize that Danworth already kind of beat me to it, but since I had already finished it, I decided to post it here anyway.

It uses a slightly different technique, using a 1-dimensional array combined with the "spread value" function and fastloops. It also contains a complete (although admittedly simple) game engine, with detectorless custom platform movement, detectorless enemy back & forth movement, and a simple flying particle effect. All events are fully commented, so be sure to look in objects' behaviors if you are interested in how they work.

Be sure to press H once you run the program to see what all the editing controls are. Remember you can press P to play your level at any time.

BTW, you can use any of the code in this example for any purpose that you like. However, you probably don't want to use any of the graphics, because I might make this into a simple game (since it's practically all set up already).

That was fun, although the game engine is "simple" still plays very well.

Thanks for your comments. I know it's not quite as impressive as "curly tentacle," but still, it's something. <img src="/center/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Although I have been trying to think of a way to make a wavy water effect (like water viewed from the side)...

    That's pretty smart.

Never really done a level editor before so it's good to see these examples popping up <img src="/center/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />.
