    Re: Masking an Object

A mask during development is a shape or bitmap.

If you have an object with a "mask" applied to it or over it, then only the overlapping parts of the object will be drawn, or the non-overlapping parts. The mask itself is always invisible.

    Re: Masking an Object

For true masking, you would have to specify another bitmap for the mask. And you’d have to be able to move the mask for it to be usefull.
But ink effects only blend the color of an object with the colors underneath it, using a blend percentage value.

When the SDK comes out, I’ll be trying to do some sort of color mask effect where the colors of an object is display only on a given background color. With the proper combinations, this could lead to some really awesome effects.

The only downside is that using it with alpha channel objects and background gradients would look bad.
