MMF2 Developer-Problem with .mfa file association

I get the following error ( see zip file with screen print and error log in File Archive thread ) whenever I try to open any .mfa source file by double clicking or selecting open from the windows pop up menu. I had the full standard version of MMF2 and the MMF2 Developer demo version installed on my computer at the same time and did not have this problem. I uninstalled both of these versions before I installed the full Developer version ( with build R242 patch ) and that’s when the problem appeared. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Developer version a couple of times and it doesn’t fix the problem. Any assistance you can provide in helping me correct this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Move the .mfa file to be in C:\ (the root directory) and tell me if it magically works. Also try changing the filename to be something short (lile a.mfa).

For me MMF2 Dev just doesn't like some paths (although I asked someone else to try and they couldn't reproduce). For example "c:\1111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111 111111111.mfa" will cause it to crash, but "1111154333333333333333333333333333333333333333333 3333 33333333333333333331111111111111324234111111111111 11111111111111111111111111.mfa" is fine. Note: I'm on build 241.

I am on R241 as well. Typo on my part. I placed the file in my root directory as you suggested and it worked. However, I don't think you should have to store all your projects that way. Hopefully someone from Clickteam will read this and see if it can be corrected in the next patch.

Update:

I uninstalled Bonus Pack 1 to see if one of the extensions might be causing this problem. This did not fix the problem but, caused another. When you uninstall the bonus pack it removes the mmfs2.dll file as well. If you reinstall the bonus pack it reinstalls the mmfs2.dll file but with what appears to be an older version. Version before bonus pack and after R241 patch is applied is 3.0.241.0. Version after bonus pack is installed is 3.0.240.0.

Ah, that's correct, I forgot to tell the bonus pack not to uninstall the DLL... I'll update it. Thanks!
