24 effect using a new version of sub-app?

I'm making a side-scrolling shooter with MMF2. I'm going to hopefully buy the dev. edition in two weeks' time, as the demo expired because I have a virus that sets the date forward and the MMF2 demo was disabled with seven days left, so I'm using the TGF2 demo for now. *sigh*

But back to the point, I never got the sub-app object working in MMF 1.5 but it works like a charm in MMF2! I've enjoyed testing it out and I really want to get an effect like in Fox's TV series 24, or the video game Farenheit. A picture-in-picture effect.

I can almost achieve that but one thing the sub-app object doesn't have at its current stage is resizing the object using events. If I could have the main game running in a sub-app window, and then have it shrink down to a corner for 24-like cutscenes, that'd be really incredible but sadly it doesn't have that feature.

    Any suggestions?

I think you could use the viewport object to create a picture-in-picture effect.

You can change the size of the sub-app window with the Window Control object, if that's what you want to do. Put a Window Control object in the sub-application and, for example, pass the size of the sub-app window from the parent application via global values.
