    Ink effect questios and suggestions.

I heard there will be an ink effect SDK. I won't be able to implent any since I have no skill in any suitable programming language. However, I wonder why there's only one parameter for semi transparency, and no other parameters.

To explain what I mean, imagine if an ink effect always has 3 parameters called for example x, y, and z. What the parameters changes is up to the ink effect itself to decide, but it could be extremely useful for an ink effect that allows the user to modify the RGB components that the object displays. If you increase the X value, the object becomes more red, y for blue, etc.

Also, this would open up for a "hue, saturation, brightness" ink effect, or a "hilight, midtone, shadow" one.

However, even without those parameters, the ink effects can handle the "semi transparency" setting differently, right (instead of just making the picture semi transparent)? A "hue shift" ink effect that shifts the hue of the object according to the semi transparency setting would be fantastic.

In that case, I would not have to clone objects to get variations of colors for identical characters.

Alot of people want "color tinting" and color adjustments. But I think I heard something about the Ink SDK not coming until a few months, which sucks.

Well, I was just thinking colour altering ink-effects could be so much more advanced, if there was more than one parameter (semi-transparency in this case) that can be changed during runtime...

Wouldn't we all want to see the complete photoshop-colour-effects in MMF2? Sure we would. Is it likely? Don't think so. I'm sure some are real speed-killers. But I'm also sure Clickteam will do the best they can. I have never seen a product so thoroughly supported as MMF.

Since there will be an ink effect SDK, clickteam would not have to do those ink effects. Anyone will be able to create ink effects, like they do extensions now.

All they would really have to do, is to add a bunch of "undefined" parameters (which I would call X, Y and Z), which functionality is determined by the ink effect, rather than MMF2 itself. Since MMF2 already supports custom ink effects, it's a relatively small addition, which would open up for a huge number of new possibilities for ink effect programmers.

I'm not saying MMF2 *must* have this feature or anything, I can certainly live without it. But it would sure be fantastic.
