IconView Object & Others.

As some of you may know by reading previous posts I'm developing a web based IRC Client. I've done it before in MMF and It's turned out great. Unfortunately, I was not able to add all the desired features that my users wanted.

Now MMF2 is here, and I'm trying again. I have some questions/suggestions though. Creating a Nicklist using the ListView object is easy but as of yet, the ListView object does not support icons (and after e-mailing Francois, it will not be supported for at least two months.)

I started exploring my other options (to show Icons in the Nicklist) - one of them being the IconView Object. It works all fine and well when set to List View using Small Icons. The problem begins when the list reaches the bottom. The IconView starts to scroll - but horizontally. There's no option to make it control Vertically.

That's one option out of the way. Another option was the IconList. There's a lack of control for this object. You can't get rid of the border or remove the top typing area. Plus the images must be loaded at Runtime from an external file. This can't be done in Vitalize.

The only other option I have left to explore is the Tree View object. I hope, whoever developed the IconView object will enable Vertical Scrolling and Disablement of Horizontal scrolling in future versions. Life would be so much more joyus then.

If anyone else has any other ideas on how to accomplish this - please please let me know. Remember, though. It has to work in Vitalize!

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried using the Small Icons view. This did indeed use a Vertical Scroll Bar. The problem was, it filled up all space Horizontally by using more than one column of items before it began to scroll Vertically.

So I tried to think of a way around this, perhaps filling space after the names with blank spaces. - The problem is, you then end up with a Horizontal Scrollbar, aswell as a Vertical Scroll bar. - and no way to get rid of it. Even if I was to write up some math to get the correct number of white spaces needed to adequately fill in the gap to stop multiple columns - When a long Nickname is found; yet again I'll be presented with a Horizontal Scroll bar.

At the moment, (I hate to say this) but the Tree View looks like the only feasible option. Any other ideas?
