    Re: Third Forum

Why were you even trying to use the CD Audio object when you're not using a Music CD?

EDIT: In other words, the CD Audio object plays normal music CDs, not mp3s on a CD.

The file is "All your base", and it is an MP3 file. I don't have an MP3 player or an Ipod. The file itself is in http://www.griffodrake.com/media/allyourbase.mp3 but the page with the link to it is http://www.griffodrake.com/dungeon2.html. It is from Zero wing, a game with the worst translation I've ever seen.
You have two options here Direct show as Ravenius said (I have not used it, so I don't know how it works).

Alternatively, you can convert the mp3 file to an ogg with this freeware software. Don't worry about the small amount of sound quality you'll lose (for this particular song, it will hardly make a difference at all). Once converted, you can use the file in your MMF2 application just like you do with normal .wav files

If you wonder what quality you should use, I recommend 96 or 112kbps, as the song doesn't have much high frequencies at all.

On your link, there are multiple products. Which one do I use?

I installed the program and installed the ogg thing seperately, but when I tried to convert it, at the end it said it was unable to finish. Is there a specific quality I should set it to?
