    oggs, files, channels question

    Could someone explain to me how that works? I know you can play an ogg file as play sample. But I cannot use the expression editor for the appdir$ and such, unless you specify a channel. So yea, someone maybe could explain this channel feature? :-)

    The channel thing is just so you can play multiple sounds at the same time. MMF2 support 32 channels. Thus, you can play 32 different sounds the same time. <img src="/center/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

    Yea I see, I am adding ogg to my current project, but everytime the character makes a sound, the ogg file stops playing. So I will have to re-program all sounds to play at a specific channel?

    Unfortunately so.

    I think it's also more safe if you disable the "Automatic" option in the Sample Filters dialog. As far as I know, if you enable it, your application won't play external sounds when you compile it.

    Now, why won't multi samples working? I set all the sound effects to play on channel 1 and music on channel 2. My multi-channel option is checked, shouldn't it be working?

    Ugh, also my application is crashing after I implemented the ogg support. It crashes when its playing the sound effects on channel 1.

    Here's the message

    Is this a known bug or issue with samples?

    Yeah, that crashing has happened to a few others, including myself. We need to let Yves know about this so it can get fixed.
