Any way to change mouse pointer graphic?

    Hi,

Checked around a bit but couldn't find this one. Is there a way to conditionally change the mouse pointer graphic from the default arrow (for instance, to a "hand" icon when going into a zone or over an object)?

    Thanks,
    KevinM

You can change the graphic using the cursor object <img src="/center/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />.

I've tried that. It gives you the option of retrieving data from an active object, but doesn't allow you to just change the shape to an image -- you have to retrieve the animation sequence, the X or Y values, the alterable values, etc. but doesn't make the process at all simple. Maybe there's something I'm missing here.

    Insert the Cursor object.

Then you need to go to the event editor and add an action (eg mouse over zone, or start of frame)... move over until you are under the Cursor action box, right click and you will see set cursor shape.

What you are seeing are the Conditions of the cursor object, not the actions.

If you're trying to change the cursor to an Active object, you need to enter the name of the object. For example, if your object was called "Active", enter "Active", and the cursor will be changed to the object with that name.

It seems like MMF2 could do with a "Get object name" expression.

Or, you'd think it'd come up with one of its 'pick object dialogue boxes'
