No Beeps?

Is there a way to disable system beeps like with the edit boxs when it is not multiline and the user presses enter?

MMF 1.5 had this same problem but it was fixed in one of the patches so you could press the Enter key and no beep would sound. I'm sure Clickteam will fix it in MMF 2 somewhere down the line.

It seems fixed in MMF 2 too, I can't reproduce it, I think this part of the source code hasn't been modified since MMF 1.5. Pkeod, could you send me an example?

I've just done a test and when I press Enter while in an Edit Box, there is no beep, so Yves is right, this is working in MMF 2.

Is'nt this an OS related issue? If I recall right this appeared in win98 but not XP...

Beeping like you suggest is not something windows 98 supports. The only beeping you get is computer tower beeping but only for dos/kernel issues

Um... I opened up mmf this morning and now neither does enter work for the edit box (as in when I have an event that "press enter" it doesn't work when the focus is on the edit box because it's multiline, I think) nor does it create any beeps.

Well, anyway, what I want is a edit box that will let me put in text (not multiline - only one line) and then allow me to check with a key press, such as enter, to look at the text that has been entered and check it against a list. I can get this all to work with masked edit box with non-restrictive check, but it too makes the sound that I was talking about when the user presses enter.

Even if the text box beeps a "key press" event is triggered when you press enter.

Like I said, everything works for masked edit - I want to get rid of the sound. For rich edit box, if I set the focus on rich edit box always and then try and call a "press enter" event that then runs a loop it doesn't work.
