STRINGS & THE STRING PARSER
One thing i noticed when i was browsing through the MMF2 help files was that there isn't a help document on the basics of String Parser 2. So here is an example of modifying strings with the string parser. (excludes lists)

Raytrace, I appreciate you posting these examples, but I really have some problems with this style of posting.
I really don't see the need to register with your new forum just to look at the examples, I think its a waste of time IMHO. Honestly making it readable only to registered users doesn't make it an interesting place to visit.
In my mind, I think ho-hum another forum scammer that wants my email address to sell to spammers, ho-hum should I waste my time for a one off visit or should I just register a temporary 2 hr email address with http://www.mytrashmail.com (or the many other temporary email providers.)and give you a fakie email to register. Selling email address is a real money spinner. Some spammer companies even offer free forums space etc (Hopefully you haven't been sucked in.), so they can scam email address from unsuspecting hosts and their clients.
The other problem I find with this kind of post from this forums administrators point of view, is how do we know what is being linked to. Imagine if the link was to a closed forum or site you couldn't register to. You could have [#$%!$], illegal downloads etc. Its sets a dangerous unfriendly precident IMHO.
Also these kind of post go against the spirit of the download forum. The guidlines state in my view that items posted are to be examples free of what so ever of any obligation or copyright for use by all. Take note that users are not required to register to use this forum, but choice to do so if they want to participate.
Please note this my option and not the option of others or Clickteam who might be fine with this style of posting ok.
Once again Raytrace I appreciate your examples, just not in the way they are posted.
To add to joewski's point, if you have set up your own forum for posting your examples, why continuously post links to them here? You could post a link to your site on the open topic forum, or on Daily click. To be honest I can't really see how this is saving clickteam any trouble at the moment.
btw, your 3d sound maths is still not right. Don't change the powers of 2, just multiply the distance equation by 0.3 or something if the sound fades out too quickly. I think you should work on your maths, and really make sure you've got the hang of it before you write an article on it.

I'm gonna make attention seeking posts too, when i finish my super duper game.
I'm afraid I have the same opinion. Don't get this wrong.
Your examples are really helpfull. But why not posting them
here? There are too many forums already.
It's hard to determine which example from which forum I have
seen and which not. And sometimes the same examples appear
on different forums.
I think everybody appreciates the effort you put in your
example files. So once again: No offence, but please post
them here.
[]To add to joewski's point, if you have set up your own forum for posting your examples, why continuously post links to them here?[/]
My original idea was for it to be a standard website but i didn't find single free web/domain host. Any suggestions?

Moderators: if you want you can remove or move this topic.

I tested the equation several times with different values but must have made a mistake somewhere. Thanks for mentioning.

I am making the forum completely public and more like a website.

I'm not quite sure what can be done about this. I can assure you that i will only link to files i have made on my computer of a decent state but trust is something you can only use at your own risk. I check the links every day to make sure they still link to the right examples but if your not sure or don't trust me/hosting company then don't download anything. (the address of the file is at the bottom of the page when you hover over the link so you can see if it's a .mfa your linking to)
