Feature Request

I would like to request the feature on key release so you could use a key press down state to turn a switch on and when released it turns off ect simply, i was suprised to see that this feature was not available, and instead was offerered some workarounds but as im new i don't understand them correctly yet, i think it would make things much simpler rather than having to use always and repeat logics to do such a simple task.

    "repeat while key is pressed"

"(negate) repeat while key is pressed"

    Re: Feature Request

+ [:"red"]X[/] repeat while key is pressed
+ Only one action when event loops

Not that this will be run once in the first event loop... To fix that you need to use a flag or something to detect the key down event

Suggest using the Window Message Object Pro to solve this problem of detecting keypress up or down events.

    Re: Feature Request

You know what would be really cool? If MMF included a new type of object description: the "animated backdrop" which would have the same "obstacle" qualifications as a backdrop object but would be able to move, and would use less memory than an active. Great for flashing lights, machines or people in the background.

One of the main reasons backdrop objects are so efficient is because they are fairly static .

So i was just wondering do you guys like my idea? i know theres workarounds but it could be much simpler than these, also how would i make a collision on/off like a comparison type thing, object is touching object is not touching connected to a counter etc?

    Re: Feature Request

I can honestly not be the judge of that. In any event, I realize that static backgrounds are effecient, but at the same time, where have you been where the world behind you just sits still? Even as I sit at my computer, I can see tree branches and laundry on the line blowing in the wind, clouds moving across the sky and such out the window.
