    Transparent screen

I would like to make an application where you can see your desktop dynamically through the MMF app. window. Ex: I am running a virus scan in a small window at the center of my Desktop screen. I then run my MMF application, its window now covers the scanning window. I want to see the scanning window dynamically through the MMF window but still want to see my MMF buttons etc. Can someone give me some starting points? P.S. it's okay if the MMF buttons cover the windows. (the background of the MMF app. is transparent). LMD

You could probably use Window Shape, though you'd be able to click on things through the transparent areas

Clicking things would be fine. I looked at the window shape but don't see how it would work for my needs.

    Re: Transparent screen

If you mean that you want the background of your app to be semi-transparent, then you may be able to use the "grab desktop at start" option of the frame, and then place a semi-transparent backdrop in the frame editor. Such a set-up would be very limited, though, because all other objects besides the backdrop would still be opaque, and you wouldn't be able to move the window without having to restart the frame. Also, you wouldn't be able to click through it.

    Re: Transparent screen

I'm sorry if i'm being stupid or off topic but wouldn't there be a way (not in MMF2 mabye) to "not draw" the backround? It would take up less memory because it doesn't need to buffer the blank parts of the window. + why can't you use semitrasn./alpha channels like active objects on the backround without taking up lots of memory?
... It might be just the way windows works.
