    Webcam capture and image crop

    Hi,

    I am trying to create a frame which captures an image from a webcam, and then crops the image (without user input but from pre-defined boundaries) before saving the image as a .jpg.

    At the moment I'm stuck on the webcam capture part - I've spent a few hours looking through the old forums and the current one, but I can't find a solution which makes sense to me - I want to try and avoid using an external application if I can.

    Is activeX the way to go? I had a look at the MMF object for this but it baffled me slightly!

    Any pointers to tutorial games or anything would be much appreciated. I'm sorry if I've missed a topic on this already posted.

    I've used the VideocapX activeX control for a couple video capturing projects. I actually never captured video, but I did have a real-time preview on screen and captured a single frame with it. I haven't used it in two years, but there's a demo to download at:
