Hi.

Will MMF2 ever run on Ubuntu Linux? I've tried Wine but it just can't do it good enough.

I'm using Linux as my Server OS. And running MMF2 app's on Ubuntu Linux is almost next to impossible!

Short answer: Hopefully.

Long answer: Because the MMF2 application runtime was re-written to be all in C++ instead of having portions of machine code, porting to other platforms should be possible. However, I don't know which platforms MMF2 apps will ultimately be able to run on and how long it will take for different runtime editions to be created. I assume that high on the list would be Linux and Mac runtimes, and Ubuntu is a pretty popular distro so that works in its favour. Running the MMF2 software is less likely than runtime support.

All extensions also needs to be ported probably using a different SDK. Some extensions are relying on the Windows API and can't be converted unless there are some very similar API features on the other platform.

You can run mmf2 with crossover office( I tested the demo version with mmf2 on ubuntu)... wine might also run it? you can do that while you wait and wait and wait:P

Couldn't clickteam release an runtime sdk? then other people could work on it and we would have it faster done prehaps...
