    Making 3D dice with 3D Mesh object?

    hello. I'm wondering how to make a texture map for a simple cube mesh I've imported into the 3D mesh object. so far, my sqare pictue is replicated on all 6 sides of the cube. any thoughts?

    You would probably have to give your cube some UV coordinates. Since you didn't specify which program you use I can't help you further, but most 3D modelling applications have a way of applying texturing coordinates to a model(and because it's such a useful thing, every application that has it will have some tutorials on how to do it).

    Since you did'nt specify which program you were using it's quite hard to tell... however, in 3ds max the modifier is called "Unwrap UVW"

    thanks, moomoo. I'm using tools that I already have. Invigorator Pro for Adobe AfterEffects can create primitives and export them in a few different formats, one being 3ds. That's how I got my cube. It's not really designed to be a modeling app. UV coordinates... I'll look into that.

    just downloaded it and made my dice! took me a while to figure out the whole UV thing, but after reading the wiki a couple (hundred) times, I got it!
