I haven't heard anything about this object in a long time, and well... I got worried. I post when I am worried.

Its still slowly under development but there is no news to report.
I want the Irrlicht object more than the physics object.
I'm even considering donating to the Irrlicht Object's developer but don't want to if the project wont get finished.
I thought that the Irrlicht object had been canned.
Well Jeff begs to differ.

Heres my wishlist for the christmas:
Irrlicht being done
-
And I did NOT buy mmf2 for irrlicht like Rishino stated![]()
I can't speak for TurboFerret on this matter, but as an extension developer I can say that these things take a long time to complete.
As far as Irrlicht being done for Christmas, I highly highly doubt it.

There comes a time when something needs to be declared abandon IMHO. See wiki for definition:-
http://www.clickwiki.info/index.php/Category:Abandoned_Objects
Now the created definition may be wrong in some peoples eyes, but its a starting point for discussion.
The Irllicht Object is a great concept and the demo was great.
However when I last looked, all traces of the the Irllicht Object have been removed from Turboferret's web site and there has been a significant lack of activity for a long period of time. In the mean time other projects have been undertaken. See wiki for details:-
http://www.clickwiki.info/index.php/Irrlicht_Object
I understand fully how much effort it takes to make a large project. Years of commitment, dedication and seeing a vision through. Its like going on a death march, if you don't succeed you die. Sometimes you need to back off just to live.
But teasing that something is on the cards when it is really years away can create a distrust of a developer, and create a reputation of whats being said is disregarded.
Another thing that needs to be taken into consideration, is the commercial damage such promises of potential delivery do to developers. I personally subscribed to a cool software development 2 years ago, with the promise of the release coming out in a few months, only to find I am still waiting 2 years later, and the beta, crashes on startup. Now that sux.
When a developer makes an announcement that they are making an object, its a bit like staking a claim to a title of land. It says to other developers I'm already on the path so don't bother duplicating my work. So other developers avoid the work. Image the discontent if one developer jumped into anothers developers space.
So its important to declare an object as abandon to free up the development space for somebody else to take up the challenge, IMHO.
As for the developer with a project that is large, there are many resources available to them, to help them through their project. When something significate is around where people are interested, you have all sorts of people willing to help.
So communication is important of whats going on with your project.
Also big projects take up a lot of resources, so developers should consider working in teams and share coding, testing and the documenting burden.
Also its amazing how communication can help. Finances and sponsorship comes out of the woodwork.
Anyway thats enough of that. Sorry if my thoughts are a little jumbled and hard to follow.

Is it already possible to test the demo ?
Is Clickteam has sources of this object ?
Is it possible to get sources and continue the project ?
Is somebody talk to TurboFerret about this project ?
Since there is a lot of work done for this object it's sad to understand that it is abandonned...
Would be a big loss when Irrlicht Object would be abandoned. Too much people are waiting for this object. I always wondered anyway why a this big project is managed by a single person. That sounds like a job for a team. Hmm, maybe somebody* should contact Turboferret and talk to him.
*I have no clue about programming. So better not me
Turboferret, when you are still around and Irrlicht Extension is still in development, how can we assist you? Do you need some low poly meshes maybe? That would be a thing where i may could help out.
