    Oh ... it's a true color image with 251 colors. Yeah, if I decrease color depth for example in Paint Shop Pro with Optimized Octree it's perfekt.

    Now I always have to decreasing the color depth before import?
    Is the Alpha Channel object decreasing the color depth by itself?

    My artist sent me a picture in PNG-format and so far this seems to be the best solution, because I can import complete animations using the Box-Option and alpha is already included. The picture has hundreds of colors, just gotta ask him how many shades of grey he actually included. Other formats like GIF require much more work when dealing with a separate picture as alpha mask.

    The problem you reported is certainly due to the MMF2 routine that converts true color images to 256-color images. It's optimized for speed, not for quality, maybe I can change this for the picture editor. I'll check.
