    limited use of shoot command?

Hi, i've been working on a 2 player shooter, and i ran into a weird issue, i was using the built in shoot command in mmf numero deuce and it stopped shooting objects after i had a certain amount of gunz.

I found a work around, been using mmf for ever, but ha anyone run into that problem? I had 16 gunz and it stopped working on 10 or so.

I'm also using a game pad and keyboard mouse combo.

    -10,000 objects setting not actual
-objects set right, destroy far from play area etc.

not a big deal i've sped past that wall.

Re: limited use of shoot command?

Here's a tip, unless you are making a really simple game, DO NOT use the shoot command. If you are making a shooting game, people would want full 360 degrees, not the horrible 32 directions. Make your own darned movement. Remember, Sine and Cosine are your friends.

    What do you mean by:
    -10,000 objects setting not actual
-objects set right, destroy far from play area etc.
I only remotely understand that first one. What exactly are you asking with those???

I don't mean to sound rude but... uhhh... what?

Re: limited use of shoot command?

Yup i figured as much, I don't really use it all that much, but it's faster than coding the stuff, you know gun recoil animation calls, and extra stuff to shot the bullets.

I do more advanced stuff than that of course. Just trying to take the lazy way out. I recoded it so it works the way I need it too. I'm actually using 32 dir still, next time 360. With my control scheme you don't need 360 to be accurate, you use the W,A,S,D and mouse aim to move P1, and an analog Joypad for P2 so you get Strafe and stuff.

It's all about 2 players and the fun playing together, so I'm having fun playing it in it's current state.

Last 2 subjects I wasn't clear on, I was saying I've got the max objects set to 10k but I don't use even a fraction of that ammount, maybe like 200+ that get destroyed over and over at the most when BIG explosions happen.

Just was wondering why it stopped shooting.
The last part was about setting the objects to be active, inactive, or destroyed outright if too far from tha play area, and collision stuff...

Thanks for the reply though. Just wondering if anyone ran into issues with that Shoot object command, I think it's been weird since KNP.
